Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service have launched a campaign targeting people who live alone after statistics revealed that they are nearly four times more likely to die or be seriously injured in a fire. The campaign kicks off with a cooking focus and the Service is urging people who live alone, and those who are close to or care for people who live alone to:

• Look when they cook
• Replace traditional chip pans with an electric fryer
• Avoid cooking when drunk
• Ensure ovens and grills pans are kept clean.
